About School

The current building was opened in 1881. Major refurbishment of the facilities was undertaken in 1999.

In Templebreedy National School, we provide a broad Primary Education, recognising that education is a life long experience and recognising that education is based on the principal of enabling the child to reach his/her full potential and to take his/her place in society, and contribute to the good of society.

Included in our curriculum are the seven core areas of education. Religious Education, Languages – English, Irish and German, Mathematics, Social Environmental and Scientific Education, History, Geography, Science, Arts Education, Visual Arts, Music, Drama, SPHE and Physical Education, Hockey, Swimming and Court Tennis. Templebreedy National School upholds the ethos of the Church of Ireland and maintains strong links with the local church community.

Computers and iPads are used as an integrated part of classroom work. Frequent visits to theatre and places of interest are arranged. Visits from people who have something to contribute to the enhancement of the Education programme in the school, are also frequent.

Home links are considered to be enormously important. We welcome and encourage involvement of our parent body in education.
